Smart Metering Operations & Integration Engineer

About the Role:

We are looking for a Smart Metering Operations & Integration Engineer to join our team, supporting a major smart metering rollout project.

In this role, you will contribute to the operational readiness, execution, and integration of smart meters into day-to-day utility operations, ensuring that systems, processes, and data flows function reliably and efficiently throughout the rollout and transition phase.

This role is ideal for an engineer who combines technical understanding with operational coordination skills, and who is comfortable working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

During your day, you will:

• Monitor the end-to-end operation of smart metering systems, ensuring the smooth collection, processing, validation, and transmission of data from field devices to downstream platforms
• Perform systematic checks on data integrity, accuracy, completeness, and consistency, identifying issues that may impact the reliability of telemetering information
• Analyze system performance and proactively identify technical or operational gaps, supporting continuous improvement of data flows and system behavior
• Support the implementation of technical and operational changes, ensuring they are properly analyzed, coordinated across stakeholders, and aligned with project and client requirements
• Contribute to troubleshooting and issue resolution, addressing challenges related to smart meter installation, activation, communication, and data transmission
• Collaborate closely with field and operational teams, including participation in site visits where required, to better understand and resolve technical issues
• Prepare structured monitoring reports, progress updates, and technical findings, highlighting risks, deviations, and recommended corrective actions
• Coordinate with utility stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring effective communication and contributing to the seamless integration of smart meters into daily operations

To be a fit, you will need:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems, or a related field
• 2-5 years of experience in smart metering, energy data, utility IT systems, or system architecture - ideally in a consulting or systems integration role
• Understanding of data flows, system integrations, and field-to-enterprise architectures
• Exposure to utility operations, metering systems, or rollout projects
• Strong communication, analytical, and client-facing consulting skills
• Ability to work in structured, multi-stakeholder project environments
• Fluency in English (oral & written)
