About the role:
We’re looking for a Protection & Automation Engineer to join our Engineering & Field Applications (EFA) Department, that will specialize in Design & Engineering.
During your day, you will:
- Design electrical schematics, panel layout drawings and prepare of technical documentation using various CAD software and tools
- Configurate and in-house test protection and automation devices (IEDs, PLCs)
- Audit protection systems and assess overall performance
- Get involved with owner's engineering services throughout project development
- Compose technical specifications for power system protection schemes, substations automation systems and high/medium voltage equipment
- Provide detailed technical reporting
- Conduct power quality measurements using high-precision devices
- Test on-site and commission protection and automation systems for transmission/distribution substations, power plants and mission-critical facilities (oil & gas refineries, data centers)
- Provide preventive maintenance services to identify possible defects and propose improvements
- Run post-event analysis and incident investigation services
To be a fit, you will need:
- Master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering
- Previous experience of 2-3 years in a similar role
- Knowledge of power systems analysis and protection theory
- Electrical drawings design and understanding (supply & automation-oriented)
- Panel layout drawings design & understanding
- Knowledge of CAD software packages (e.g. AutoCAD Electrical)
- Familiarization with Substation HV/MV Equipment and aux. LV equipment (MCBs, aux. relays, buttons, switches, etc.)
- Boolean algebra logic design & understanding
- Knowledge of protection and automation IED configuration packages
- Experience in preparing technical reports & proposals
- Communication and collaboration skills
- Adaptability to change
- Positive & can-do mentality
- Availability for on-site visits and participation in commissioning works
Nice to Have (not required):
- Familiarization with IEC 61850 standard
- Experience in secondary electrical equipment testing (IEDs, PLCs, etc.)
- IEC 61131 PLC programming (Codesys, etc.)
- Algorithm development & optimization
